Ah aphorisms. They are the fortune cookies of personal philosophy. Simple, short, and say a lot (hey, that sounds like ME in a nutshell). I always liked "Wishing is not a strategy". I think I heard it in a training seminar.
Then there's the classic "It's only funny until someone gets hurt". My parents said that too many time for me to count.
Thanks for sharing, Mary Jean
My personal favorites are Erudito Est Vox & It's not a secret if you tell anyone
Those quotes rock! <br>My favorites are: <br>'Show me a sane man and I will cure him for you' <br>and <br>'It's not paranoia if they're really out to get you' <br> <br>Hey, I finally made a post!!!!!!!!!!!! <br> <br>-Luke
"Wishing is not a strategy". <br>Darn. That ruins my plan.
Question, Is swearing allowed
michael! you oughtta know the answer to that question! but i'll say it so it will have been said. <br> <br>no, swearing is not permitted on the wiki. if it is, i'll delete it as soon as i see it. <br> <br>i think we're all smart enough and have sizeable enough vocabularies, though, that we don't need to use curses.
Hi Michael, <br> Niles answered fer me on the swearin' and I must concur (not that we agree on everything, mind ya) However, because of the public forum-ness we have to use other means to express. Even though you made a comment on Katherine's page that you think your work isn't good, you are wrong. You do have the ability to spin words and I'm certain that you can find ways of getting your point across without those particular words. Think of it as an intellectual challenge. <br> <br>And yes, I love the "Wishing is not a strategy" bit too. <br> <br>Here is a perky quote from Robert Heinlein. It's funny to me because most of his quotes are on the not-so-perky side: <br> <br>"One of the sanest, surest, and most generous joys of life comes from being happy over the good fortune of others." <br> <br>Ok, one more Heinlein: <br>I never learned from a man who agreed with me. <br>ne more Heinlein:
Dar'vitt I am the heart and soul of this board I have like half the comments does this say anything
Niles at that point it wasn't a matter of having to it was a matter if respecting the source material it loses somthing without *Bleep*, Dar'vitt I hate this *Bleep* atuo censoring machine does that work not explicit but you can figure it out if you have half a brain
I hear ya about artistic integrity. <br> <br>And I love that you are a prolific poster. We want this thing to be successful...which means fun and info-taining. <br> <br>See you soon, Mary Jean
Info-taining?? you've been hanging around us too long
hey michael.
i think we should try to steer clear of terrorist jokes...
they're in poor taste and not really that funny.
Fine you win, For now.
LOL @ mary jean's quote. nice!
It's not my fault I just posted it
