Over the past few centuries poets have been strangely silent on one very important subject, (waits for dramatic tension to build) Cheese here is my small attempt to remedy this problem
Extra Sharp Cheddar
Cheddar Cheese, sharper than any sword Lighter than a summer breeze, eaten straight off the board
~Michael Kane
Provolone
A lovely white disc With a light smoky flavor, Though cutting it is quite a risk Eating it is something to savor ~Michael Kane
Goat Gouda
A pungent savory treat, Although it smells like feet, You say it comes from a goat, I think it spent too long on the boat, ~Michael Kane PS: it doesn't really smell like feet
Velveeta
A bland flavorless mass, Used only for texture, It tastes like, donkey, Of this I'm quite sure ~Michael Kane
I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am

Wow Michael,
I absolutely love this! Not just because I'm hungry for dinner either.
They have not invented the sharp cheddar of my dreams yet, but I keep hoping.
How about Gouda. Goat Gouda.
If you write a good poem about Goat Gouda....maybe I'll bring some to a ETC meeting so you can try it. It's worth an ode.
Oh yeah, and the writing was good too. I wouldn't want the topic to overwhelm the poetry. The summer breeze line creates good imagery.

No worries Michael,
And here I was worried that you were holding out for more cheese!
I know you'll get to it when there is an opportunity.

Meanwhile, Niles is busy planning the next event...We hope you'll be able to attend it.

You really ought to give credit to the man who said it first: GK Chesterton. "The poets have been remarkable silent on the subject of cheese."

my favorite is the quote at the bottom:
"i can't hear you over the sound of how awesome i am."
that sounds like something i would say in real life.
